It would be very tempting to pack the tank with loads of fish. But then the tank maintenance would be huge. 20% water change would be 60 gallons. That's half of what I've got at the moment and that takes nearly an hour. Having a sump makes life a lot easier. If I stock it sensibly, I may be able to go a month between water changes. I'll probably have to go a little bit of maintenance in between, but hopefully not too much.

What other fish are you going to put in the tank? It looks pretty awesome.

Good Luck!!!

OscarFL, I have a post on a diffrent forum of my 240gln if you want to check it out. The thread isn't the best quality but it shows the basics of the whole setup, sump, water changer, and all with lots of pics. http://board.fishchannel.com/
Look in the general fresh water. The thread is dust shark habbitat. It's a newb site that is part of FAMA and IFM network and I posted it there so newbs could get a little insight on there developing addiction.....LOL..... I also like helping newbs start in the right direction.

Blimey, the sump is almost as big as a tank anyway, looks pretty good, photo was quite big so wasn't that easy to look at.

My sump is not far off 70 gallons. I've got three compartments for media and one large compartment for the pump/heaters etc. I think I can get enough biological media for around 1000 gallons in just one of the compartments so I am quite happy with the size of the sump.

Hopefully going to get it all plumbed in in the next two weeks and then it will go

Mr.Cracker, I can't find your thread

By the way everyone, I've just started planning my 1,400 gallon Arowana tank.

It's going to have one silver arowana, two oscars, two JD's, two black-belt cichlids, one pleco, some sydonotis, and three FW stingrays.

I'm making it out of cement block, and adding a glass pane at the front.
