Hello, Shane, I'm Rogue, and I too, am a fish keeper. /sits down

I'm from Australia, with family from and in the UK. Which part are you from? There's a few people here from the UK.

Keeper of the Food Pellets of Malekith the Never Accursed, Lover of Bubbles and Airstones, and Beloved of the Rogue Violetta.

Throw yourself in- use the wrong words, try different foods, kiss random fish. It's an adventure!

Welcome to OFL, Shane.

A 5x2x2 is approximately 150 U.S. gallons or 125 U.K. gallons. I have the exact same size tank.

Since this is OFL, a pair of Oscars should do nicely in that tank (provided they get along, of course).

Other options are one Oscar and a Plecostomus (along with possibly some dithers), or one Oscar and a Severum (and some dithers).

You will certainly have plenty of filtration with two FX6. I might suggest that two 300 watt eheim jager heaters are overkill. I heat my tank just fine with one.

Be prepared to do frequent 50% or larger partial water changes if you decide to stock with large cichlids (or Plecos).

what fish are you into ? And what is available ? Do you like multiple fish community set ups ? Or single specimen tanks ? Bocourti pair would look great but they get big... you could do a larger growing fish like pearsei/bocourti/oscar/chocalate cichlid/severum and a couple of small/med growing like cryptoheros/acaras. Or pairs of p.argentea... single zonatus with dithers....trimac.....you have a clean slate have fun with it do some research and see what you like
