Fijiwigi created the topic: 120g oscar tank build

I have always wanted an albino oscar after years of fishkeeping I decided to do it. Got a 120g tank. With two 55g barrels for a sump. Eshopps pf-1800 overflow with a 1300gph return pump. Still at beginning setup stage. My main question is related to stocking. I am set on an albino oscar. (Can't change my mind) and my friend has a 8" plecotamus I am going to rescue from a 40g goldfish tank. Would love stocking advice in addition to that. Tossing around the idea of a pair of albino Oscars. Would look nice against my black background.

My tank. Home depot play sand, 4 " pvc I had laying around that I painted and the pipe decor I got with the used tank. Used automobile window tint for the background

Most people here use the direct link from Photobucket, though I often upload and get a link from Tinypic.com (no signup needed). But any image url will work. Just feed it into the photo icon above the message box or use the code: [ img ] ulr here [ / img ] : except without any spaces.

in my opinion that tank would make a good home for 1 oscar and the pleco and that's it

and on a side note you should get a piece of driftwood for the pleco because sucking on it helps their digestion

5x2x2 is 150 US gals. Good volume for a small community, but footprint is restrictive for big fish. Without the pleco, you could do a couple smaller cichlids with the Oscar.
