and Astro looks so diff from the first picture in the set to the next few lol so dark there

He gets really moody whenever I put my hands inside the tank... but now he gets back to himself really quick instead of being sulked for days :P he also changes a lot from grey to fully dark depending on the mood :silly:

mine has also taken to treating water changes like the apocalypse has come - lies down on his side in his sulking corner.

Astro is beautiful :) You have to love them for their moods :)

Today made a large WC about 70% why? That was the only way to move the tank a bit from the wall, just enough to make some changes in the filters.

Removed the Sun Sun inner filter and changed the way how the water was moving around in the tank.

Before I had each filter in each corner, sucking and returning water to the tank, that way I had to opposite currents.

Now I have only the larger flter JBL 1501GL that makes about 1.000lts/h (1.400 without no media and tubes) sucking in the right corner, the closest to the canister position that allowed for me to cut 55cm (22in) in the tube and in the opposite side I have the flute with 30cm (12in), previous the flute had 2x the size and was placed in the back now she's facing the side of the tank and sending the water across the tank in the direction of the sucking tube.

I know I have diminished the number of media but I was getting at the end of each week readings of No3 always under 5ppm. This way now I have less one filter inside the tank that gives more free space and less tubes inside the tank, besides having a current from side to side instead of two running against each other.

By the way what do you prefer, using a large exit (like the duck mouth) or a flute? Witch is best for water aeration and growing plants?

well, I have no idea about which one will help with plant growth, as for aeration, whichever one causes the most surface disruption.

pretty pictures :)

Well next weekend I'm going out for 2 weeks vacations and I'm wondering how will Astro respond when I get back... will he be moody again as last time I went away?

I'm setting the automatic feeder today to only one serve a day so there’s not to much waste and hope everything is fine on the 8th September.

Talk to you again as soon as I get back!
