S.S., Wicket did that a few times during water changes. She'd go sit on the gravel, tilted slightly to the side, and you would swear the fish is dead if you didn't see the faint gill movements. Wicket would stay like that for hours.

If it's eating ok, and your water is ok, it just got really scared. They really are drama queens at times.

Firestrorm, if you buy a camera you'll buy it for the whole family not only for the fish LOL.

Nina yes that's it... looked ded, if it wasn't for a slight movement of the gills. Are all Oscars like that or we both have females(drama queens)??? :)

HEY HEY HEY !!! Thats to assume that all drama queens are female ! And thats not it !!! I have seen plenty of " males " ( using that term loosely ) being big old drama queens.

I'm pretty sure it's not a female oscar thing, but an oscar thing in general. Silly fish. But you have to love them for it :) You just can't help it.

Yes of-course its a Oscar thing I was just joking with the opposite sex due to having a wife and a daughter of seven and they both are drama queens, from time to time... :)

Astro now is doing better not yet quite active as before but not playing dead all the time.

He is a beautiful O!! Looking forward to "watching" him grow!

We have had our Groucho (Tiger O) for over a year now...have watched him grow from 2 inches to pushing 11 inches! LOVE watching him swim around in his little 55 gal world. We also have a fancy goldfish and a black moor in a separate tank. We love our fishies!...[IMG]

I have no sand its gravel and the flash made it look even brighter. No he isn't digging yet, only twice e took out the valisneria but after 2nd time I've putted the plant on the rear protected by a large rock.

Cebosound what do you mean by lighter substrate?
