Thanks everyone, I had planned on showing this fish in a 75gal, but things are going a little south for me right now. I had a 55gal spring a leak a couple of weeks ago, and the crash of my 75gal. I am trying to get to 1 tank 1 fish stocking levels, and I seem to be hitting some big speed bumps along the way. This past tuesday was fish trade in day at the lfs, and I had planned on getting rid of 2 common pleco, 4 pike cichlids, and 5 silver dollars, but it did not happen. I get a 50% credit at the store for trade ins, and planned on getting a bunch of live plants in order to get a planted community set up.

Cool Oscar Rob, he will like the 75. Did you empty the tank? I had my Nic drop from duck lips a while back, which is a form of culminaris. The 55 I was attempting to treat her in was home to my Festae, and was real nervous about putting the Festae back in. Rock stated to sterilize the tank use hydrogen peroxide.

Not yet, I still have the pleco to deal with, but I think I am going to use an empty 29 for the treatment. Did you use the hydrogen peroxide, and if so what is the procedure. I will leave the little guy where he is until I know he has a clean home to go into. I might get there faster if I reseal a 55, but that just sounds like a pain.

Yeah, my bad, forgot about the plec. I didn't use the hp treatment, as I have 3 AC70's on the 55, they don't fit on any bigger tanks, and couldn't start from scratch with an uncycled tank. What I did was drop a big pleco in the tank for a couple weeks, a test driver so to speak. He did fine, so before putting the Festae back, I drained it totally, refilled with fresh and back she went. Rock did tell me that adding a big bottle of hp with water in will sterilize the tank, and after 24hrs fish can go back in. My concern was killing off 3 filters worth of established bio. I see your plec is doing better, and my understanding is that culminaris is highly contagious and kills quick. Maybe the pikes didn't even have that?

I am thinking on the same lines, since there were no visible symptoms prior to the ick out break. I have not added the Furan at this point, and am just going to keep an eye on things. If the pleco makes it for a week+ I may do the swap. I am really excited to get Ben in the 100g, and the new oscar in a 75, but I don't want to rush it.
