I was doing my water change today and my Oscar was at it again so I got a quick video of him trying to get a taste of my knuckle.

Mine has bit me couple of times, but yours is really aggressive. You should do the dowel/pvc trick.

Yeah you could build one.....& that looks like an Aqueon....I know Python makes a 24" gravel tube.......Aqueon doesn't make one? Umm, yup they do:

Darth Sidious attacks that gravel tube HARD....no way I stick my hand in his tank w/ out know exactly where he is.....his teeth & jaws = stitches.

Mine is marina. It's funny how he only started doing that the last week. But their behaviour changes so much. Actually that gravel vac is just the cheap one from Walmart I bought that for the short hose, I find it cleans the gravel better because of more suction. I use that to fill 3 or 4 buckets make sure the gravel is good and clean and then I get my other vac with the 50' hose and drain the rest of the tank.

Single Oscars depend to be more aggressive, other fish help at this but most likley it stops with another species mate. My Oscars are wild caught and can be really mean but at water change time they are totally relaxed and always go nuts if the water hose with the fresh water comes while playing in the waves and bubbles from the outline.

Many people forget that Oscars are by nature living in groups, they just gets nuts if they are all alone.

Well my oscars done another 360 degree turn. He went from trying to attack my hand as yous seen, to now he lets me touch the top of his head. I know it's not good for him so I wouldn't do it often but I was just playing around last night and got brave and put my hand in and started rubbing the top of his head and a bit on his side. All within a week he went from trying to bite me to letting me rub him lol. Like I said I wouldn't want to do it often but it was something I wanted to try and he didn't seem to mind it at all.
