Thank you. I actually do have a big plastic container. It should be fine. And I'll stop feeding 2 days before the move

When i rehomed my oscar to Poseidon he drove for almost the same time you are with just a cooler filled with water...not a big deal. Hopefully he chimes in

Best of luck however you choose to transport the fish. I am sure that everything will be fine. The tank to tank time will be minimal, and as long as everything is ready to go in the new one , then I think you will be good.

so, id like to get some tank mates for the oscar. i was wondering what you guys had. i want to go for a peaceful set-up. im thinking severum and maybe a fire mouth. the guy im buying the tank from has a very big ghost knife fish and asked me too keep it. its a 105 gallon tank and i have seen these fish coexisting. the oscar is quite peaceful. but if i do that im thinking i shouldn't get anything else. maybe just a severum?

What filtration do you have for the 105 gallon?

I honestly don't know. I asked the guy what filters he had and all he could tell me was he had 2 aqua one filters. Probably about 2000 l/hour. I'll add a 3rd canistrfilters and a foam filter anyway

If you'd like another fish with the oscar, severums tend to be a good match. You also won't overstock your tank although with 1 oscar and 1 sev you'll be close to max. The ghost knife needs a minimum of 110 gallons and can grow to 20 inches. I'd definitely take it to the lfs and see if you might be able to get something for it.

My bad. The tank is 120. Not 100. And the ghost knife is pretty close to full size.
