20 ft is the shortest python they sell.

the test kit goes for $20 or less on amazon.

Don't worry about gravel until you have a handle taking care of the fish.

You can always use cinder blocks with a 3/4 plywood or 2x4 on top if your dad will allow you.

No that luffa is worthless. If you can't find the nylon pot scrubbies nearby, order either Seachem Matrix or Fluval Bio-max.

P.S remember i do have my still cyclin 20g with my oscar in it would vaccumin help with cyclin n

Rocksor wrote: You need the filter media as soon as possible. If you can't find the plastic scrubbies locally, then get the media bag with the bio-max or matrix. I would buy the bio-media and the API freshwater master test kit before the python. If you can buy the python, bio-media, and test kit at the same time then go ahead.

The 5 in one test are practically useless. Those are test strips.

This is what the API freshwater master test kit looks like

You need to do 50% water changes when ammonia or nitrites hit 0.5ppm. This could be every other day or every 3 days. The test kit will let you know. It depends on the size of the fish and amount of water in the tank. There's no way around it when doing a fish in cycle, which you are still doing in the small tank.

so i should get python n test kit (on my 60-80$ budget) until i can get a 55 gallon stand next week cause i dont have anywhere i can put it until i get a stand for my 55 gal so the fish would have to stay in that tank with 2 pictus's for 1 more week with easier changes n gravel vac & kit is me best option?

Honestly, this should be your next purchase:

I have 3 of these on my tanks, has a built-in trickle filter, & you can stuff it full w/ filter fiber for mechanical. Can be purchased for around $54.99. Highly recommend......

Use this in conjunction w/ that Whisper....far better to have superior filtration now, you will have a trickle filter for biological (once it cycles), & can't really get better than that on a budget.

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.
