haha Oscars = LOTS of water changes! I found that out the hard way. Here's how I do mine now. I invested in a 300-500gph pond pump. I have a 75g tank and do water changes every 2-3 day depending on water readings. Ok so I put the pump in my tank and run the tube to the bath tub and turn on...once water level is low I turn off air stone heater and filter. after I have emptied the amount it need to...I scrub my bath tub (remove soap scum) and fill that puppy up all the way with water that matches the tank temp. and my water stuff. then I just take the pump out of the tank put it in the tub and put the open end of the hose to the tank...turn it on and bam no mess and fast water changes!

Python for the win.

$40 with free shipping from Amazon.com. Takes me about 45 minutes to do a 50% water change in my 150 gallon, and I have low water pressure. A 75 gallon would take half that time, even less if you have better water pressure than me, which most people do.

I bought this easy on/off adapter which works great for me, as I never have to unscrew anything.

I read that twice and still don't quite know what you just asked.

I'm starting to get the feeling that we are being played.

Time for me to bow out, since I have a bad record with this kind of thing. Sup, Darth, Rob, Ken, and others will help you. Best of luck.

im not playin anyone .... lol im sorry okay i am messed up on something didnt want to say it cause its my business n forums but im not playing u im sorry i asked stupidly , i was asking about bio media is it those rings u put into filter bags but i know it is now and also was saying instead of fillin my 55 gal and taking all 3 fish (oscar , 2 pictus catfish) from my 20 gal with filter added to my 55 gal filter (30-60i whisper i think) , would it be better to just keep cats in my 20 gal with there 10-30i filter on there still nd move my oscar in the 55 gal with just that 30-60i and get another filter in a couple weeks what would be better, oscari n 55 alone with 30-60i whisper or oscar with 2 pictus cats in 55 with 10-30i and 30-60i filter both are not fully cycled yet?? and was wondering if the w/c's still have to be the weekly 1-2 times even tho hes small, sorry several questions

your best move is as I suggested before.. put all fish and use all available equipment in the 55. You have a partially seeded filter on the 20, but a zero-ready one for the 55. The 20 filter will aid in cycling the 55 a little sooner. I've seen you ask about water change amounts several times. You will need to do at least 50% every 2-3 days for at least 2 months. Maybe less time, but your water tests will determine that. Thinking you can get away with 25% couple times a week will not be good for fish. Not before or after cycle.

Dont know if this has been said yet but if your not already using seachem prime water conditioner you need to be, prime will protect your fish from ammonia and nitrites between the every 2 day water changes

Also you are right whatever your messed up on is your business and not the forums as long as you dont let it effect the way you handle yourself here, "im sorry I was messed up on _____" is not an acceptable excuse to act like an idiot (not saying your acting like one now just putting it out there)

BK, PM sent.

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.
