Not sure were to post this... Got another tank today (I did say I was a horder lol) in my defense it was free, I got a real nice (very very dirty was salt water tank and ran into the ground by the looks of things) 75 gal tank with hoods a 48" wave point t5 light a cascade 1000 canister filter. A aqua something or amother biowheel hob filter .Buckets of dead coral lots if salt water treatment stuff, and a couple large ammonia nitrate calcium testing kits along with a couple fluval lil water guages. And a nice stand. But to the question at hand the light don't turn on, does anyone have any experience with these? I've read a lil bit so far on Google and they all basically say ditch the florescence n ballests and get led bulbs. Anyone here actually do this? The filters look like they come off a ship wreck, can I use vinager to clean them? (The cascade actually come with new media in opened) I'm worried about vinager eating the rubber seals. And can I use the coral for decoration in a fresh water tank?

Free is always the best price. The light could be about anything, Check for salt corrosion at all contacts. Yes vinegar will clean up the filters, but some diligent scraping may be in order as well. Seals will be ok, just dont immerse the entire filter in vinegar. Saturate a rag, wipe, wipe. The coral may act as a buffer and raise PH. Prob not good for your Angels, they like very soft acidic water.
