Would depend on size and number of fish in the tank. Quick guess is no. Its less about flow and more about media capacity. Extra large like FX6 or Eheim 2262 would stand a better chance.

Sure you can use it. You just need additional support. Adding a pair of Aquaclear 110 hobs would be a good step forward. More than 1 filter is always a good setup. You wouldnt be in a big bind should one unexpectedly fail.

At 140g I suggest a pair. How many fish do you have in there? Lets have some indication of bioload.

Regardless of what you may read or have been told from wherever, 75 African cichlids in a 140g tank is a ridiculous and severe overstock. Not even 2 gallons per fish. Think more on the lines of 20. You will never manage that many fish, neither from aggression points nor water quality. Disaster from the word go.

You are of course free to do as you wish. An overstocked tank is just that regardless of species. While it is true that Africans can be in higher numbers than say South or Central Americans, 75 fish in 140 is absurd. I would seriously question your resources, and in particular the "master" I have almost 50yrs in this hobby, have kept Africans on several occasions. My last round was 20ish in 120g. Could not keep nitrate at healthy levels.
