Penn! i saw a thing on tv once about that animal. the guy was sitting in a 9 ft deer stand and the cat was 13 feet long and stood up on his back legs and was eating a gigantic steak out of the guys hand.... thats WTF HUGE!

just think if we made Oscacu.... (oscar + pacu?)

or an Oscawana? (oscar arowana) or even like an aligator Goscar (gar oscar)

oh the fun we could have.

the oscawana is my favorite idea lol... :D

God knows what a cross between an arrowana and an Oscar would look like?

I watched this fantastic fishing programme this evening. Probably never heard of the guy, but we have a celebrity fisherman called John Wilson who's been around since the mid-80s doing television fishing shows. This one was called Dream Fishing and boy does it live up to its name. Today he was with his brother fishing at Twin Palm Lagoon in Thailand. The lake is packed with all sorts of South American fish as well as a few other from around the world. They caught various catfish, pacu, giant gourami, and then his brother caught a 170lb arapaima on a float. Maybe I should save my money and visit, reckon it'll be worth every penny

Well they are supposed to be the largest freshwater fish in the world. Mind you, I would debate after seeing a guy catch a 10 foot long Canadian sturgeon the other day on a program called monster fishing. This bloody thing was an absolute beast, unbelievable. They hooked it up in a boat but had to call for backup from a couple of other fishermen, funnily enough the people who were being filmed for the program. And then they have to land it on the shore because it was so absolutely huge.

But I think catching a beast like that will spoil you for life...
You'll be thinking about that catch anytime your fishing smaller species.

But I like being spoiled.

I don't think you could catch many fish like that in the day, even the guy who hooked initially got so tired he had to let someone else take over for a while

When I used to go fishing I took a small spring balance to weigh the fish. What do you take to weigh fish that are 800lb. ))))) WHAT A MONSTER. I think i would have thrown the rod and run seeing that beast if i were waist deep in water.)))))
