poelinca created the topic: Little overhaul of the tank

Changed the white sand to black gravel and moved the driftwood around (made out of marble, 2-4 mm thick), plants have grown quite a bit and multiplied a ton lately (tough they need some ferts. and a bit more light, will fix it next weekend).

Added a baby GT witch holds pretty good against aggression and the thing i like the most about him is that he always stays in the front of the tank, never scared like the rest hiding for the most part.

Baby GT flaring at the big boss, not being scared lol

Baby JD i got aprox. a year back, ain't so small and learned to deal with the big O and Macaw. He is not shy anymore when it comes to food, so i hope he is on the right track (pic doesn't do him justice, he is bigger and beautiful)

The big old O, checking the newly added baby O (the big one is 2 years close to 30cm, the small one is 5-7 months old didn't measured him yet).

Nope, that's not HITH on the big O, he managed to scratch himself pretty good when i changed the sand to gravel, he was so pissed even attacking me while i was decorating. He will heal soon (i will do 50% WC every two days, instead of the usual 75% a week).

The male Macaw, trying to chase away the baby O from his "home"

Yep, "Ralph" has managed to stay alive all these years he is big and fat as a pig, the Macaw chases him but the big O doesn't mind at all (he leaves him alone even when he is lurking thru the O territory).

Oh, forgot to take pics of the Swordtail witch lasted in the tank all these years, safe and sound big as a cow nobody chases her around.

I'm not sure. Tried fiddling but no luck - maybe another mod will have more success. When you uploaded the photos was there a link for IMG code for forums/message boards? If not, upload them to photobucket or tinypic if you can.

Very nice tank and i like the fact that it is planted. My old Oscars also allowed plants but the right now do not like them or better said like them to much as an snack so that only swimming plants are allowed.

What are the tank diameters? Looks like something in the 2 Meter Region.

The tank is 220x55x65 cm, so yes 2 m region

The big O didn't liked the Anubias for more than a year, i was lucky to have a large piece witch survived the abuse (it is still tied down with wire, the rest are not), now he is fine with it for the most part (read: he doesn't mess with the plants in plain sight, but once a week i need to clear one of the filters intake because it's choked by few anubias leaves, so i assume he still tries to move them around but not that important for him anymore).

Thanks Ben.

Yep he awesome and always wonders about.

The tank will be overcrowded soon when he starts to grow, so i am re-homing the Macaw this weekend (gets to go in a tank with other 8 macaws not fully grown tough, but a better life for him since he will get the chance to mate in the future).

Tank and fish look great, It seems only a short time ago that you were building the stand and looking for help getting it inside. Nice update!
