It cleared a little but came right back. The triple sulfa started to calm it down but it flared right back up during treatment. No other fish in the tank has been affected.

Sulking? lol for the first day. Total snot now and glass bangs at me and my wife when we put our hand against the side of the tank. Chunk attacked the algae scrubber today when I had to scrub off a small amount of sticker residue off the inside.

It very irritating that the fish is covered in this horrible stuff and I cant kick it.

The only thing I could think it might be (but probably not) as you've eliminated everything else is Velvet.

www.fishchannel.com/fish-health/freshwater-conditions/velvet-disease.aspx

While it does say here that it presents as more of a dust than anything else, other things I've read list that it can also present as very small white spots like your O has. Looking up pictures of fish with velvet; some of them also seem to show similar spotting.

Treatment seems to involve either using a medication like copper sulfate or methylene blue, but an alternative is to treat using salt and heat (86F) like ich, but to also put the tank in the dark as the parasite uses photosynthesis to derive some of its energy requirements.

This is really just a guess and I could be totally off the mark, but it might be worth looking into in any case assuming you haven't done so already.

Actually... taking a closer look at the anal fin in the lower-right of your pic, that really does look like velvet to me. If I were you that's what I'd start treating for, especially since you've tried so many other meds.

D if its velvet im pretty sure you need to cover the tank... the spores use photosynthesis as part of their nourishment. Copper based meds too.

I am going to start parasite treatment after work this evening. But in the meantime I will turn the lights off all day and see what happens. I dont have any copper based stuff on hand but I do have Tetra Parasite Guard which has Ariflavin which is used for Velvet. Another basic treatment is like treating Ich with temp and salt. I had tried salt and Malachite Green but did not have any success, likely due to the fact I did not have the whole treatment in place with the high temp. I like having this game plan and this seems to make sense since it has not responded to the antibiotics.

Yea, that 75 is a much better footprint for an O. Good move.

The bowfront is nice. Would make a good African tank. :)

Good luck on the velvet, if that's what it is. Sucks to have sick pets.

Got a water change in this morning and added a bag of carbon to remove traces of the meds. I have lights off in the tank and will get the temps up and start with the Tetra Parasite Guard this evening.
