Very nice but there are still some things to do.

1: For Gouramis of any kind you have to make filter current so less as able because Labyrinth fish breath atmospheric air. Also if the male starts to build his bubble Nest he will have no Chance to keep it on the place where he need it. Breeding in this conditions is also impossible.

2: Labyrinth fish need a lot of structure to prevent aggression even under pairs, if the male is in breeding Modus he will kill the female so you should put in so many plants you can. The most easy solution are swimming plants, at best 80 to 90% covering the whole surface area and things like moss and Horn worth.

This two points are also the reason that cory cats and gouramis do not do good together for a community than there needs are very different from an schooling river fish to an fish that has his orgins in flooded fields and swamps.

The gourami are both male so no breeding will be going on. I will get some more structure and plants in tho. Thanks for the heads up.

You found a couple nice ones pretty fast! :) Nice color ... the fish I like most that I've never owned. You'll have to keep me updated as they grow and of any changes you might make to tank.

They are labyrinth fish. I've always used sponge filters with my bettas. However, I always thought that current was as much a problem because of bettas' fins (they can tear them in strong current) than because of their need to make bubble nests. Still, I've had two bettas, one on one occasion and one on two occasions, create bubble nests even though I have no female bettas. But your fish are too young and I doubt that will ever be a problem. Whatever the case, you could fill the tank more to decrease the srength of the current or use a sponge filter instead. Sponge filters and air pumps are very cheap on eBay (new, both for around $20-25 including shipping).

I have air pumps so that not a problem and can Def put some more water in to decrease the current. They have been very active since I got them home. About an hour after going in they were up at the surface like they were hungry and sure enough they both went to town on some flakes. I will Def keep a close eye on them in these early stages and have the option to separate them and or remove the cory cats since I have other tanks running but so far so good. All 4 have been very active and exploring their new digs

Mike would it be safe to switch out the filtration? I just spent weeks getting this one properly cycled. It's a penguin bio wheel. I replaced the standard carbon with a cut to size sponge and a nylon pouch full of bio max. Never used a true sponge filter so I'm not sure if any of my cycled media would be compatible.

I love it, great looking fish. I had dwarf blue a few years ago, and it was as personable as an oscar. I would run the penguin and add the sponges. After a couple of weeks the sponges should be good to go and you can remove the hob.

Super cool looking Jen. They are one of the only freshwater fish that are as colorful as African and ca cichlids.
