No really, my best friend.......ever.

He stuck with me for over twenty years. He holds the record over any other friend, and my 1st wife. :-) Not that he had a lot of choice. ;-)

At his biggest, he weighed around 8lbs, and was over four foot long. Sadly, he passed away last year...just old age. 20 years is very old for an iguana.

I still have another iguana, only around half Ig's size, despite only being a couple of years younger. I think his growth was stunted by not being the dominant iguana in the house.

Male iguanas are very territorial. Tiny is starting to assert himself now that Ig is gone. Kind of funny to witness. ;-)

Thanks! I did a lot of research and fed him mostly greens (collard, mustard, turnip), as well as yellow veggies (squash, etc). Iguanas are one of the few reptiles that are mostly vegetarian. Also provided him with plenty of UV light.

That is awesome! When I was younger I had a bearded dragon for about 8 years. I was always tempted to have an iguana but there is no way I would have been able to house something that big. My neighbor had 2 of them tho and they would always tail whip the crap out of him, and try to bite him. Did urs ever try this?

Yes.

Both of my males had attitude problems when they were younger. Male iguanas can be very aggressive and territorial. Bearded Dragons are very mild mannered compared to iguanas. I think that is why we don't see very many iguanas for sale these days in pet stores, and that is for the best, IMO.
