Hey guys, just wanted to share THIS little guy

He is so effing cute I wanna die!

(I did not take this photo, I found it browsing through the Sochi strays gallery)

This woman I know is currently in Sochi reporting, and there are strays everywhere!! I think it is just HORRIBLE that they shoot them on sight, I mean LOOK at that face!!
I'm definitely supporting all of the people who are trying to bring the strays back to America and I really hope it works out!

that little guy is cute, but bringing them back to the states not going to help much at all - since we do have a shortage room in the pounds. best option IMO is to neuter them instead of killing. i guess snipping is cheaper than a bullet????

it is sad but strays are a real problem in many countries, not just dogs but cats aswell. And in Russia you get packs of strays that attack people and many carry diseases that is why they shoot them. Its cruel but humans always put themselves first before any other animal.

In some countries they do castrate them I know Spain has donation boxes around for stray cats and it does seem to help feed them, neuter, medicate etc and they seem very happy, free and under control.

this shows what it is like in russia

I'm living my life, but not necessarily in the right order :)

Yeah, my two best friends are from Moscow, I have heard a lot about Russia and I am aware that the strays are vicious, but they are only wild, they do what they learn to survive.

What is crazy to me is how many dead cats I see where I live!! I came from chicago where I could have outside cats no problem, and I have never seen a dead cat, but now that I live in NW Arkansas I see dead cats ALL the time!! I'm not sure if it is because there are more strays down here or if people down here really just don't like cats, but it breaks my heart and I know I may sound like I'm going way out of line but every time I see a dead cat in the road I call animal control to go pick it up.. stray or domesticated, if that was my cat and I didn't know about it I would want someone to call to get my cat out of the roads, I have seen a few cats that never get picked up and end up just disintegrating into the road and it makes me sick.

yea that is harsh I hate seeing dead cats and I dont get why so many people really hate them.

I worry for my little Diego but he hates being in the house and spends most his time outdoors.

I'm living my life, but not necessarily in the right order :)

Most cats can handle themselves outside when they were raised that way.. like I said I have never had issues.. but I just don't think cats have a chance here where I live! One Halloween I saw a black cat nailed to a tree and I just don't understand it! I would never ever let my cat go outside, I have a doggy door and it still worries me she will go outside through it, I'm very protective of her lol
