Don't worry about the decorations until the 55g is cycled.

Well , I assume you only have filter on that 20G tank , and being that you have other fish that need that filter it eliminates the easiest way of cycling a tank , by just transfering an already cycled filter.
Unless of course you transfer all 3 of them into the 55G tank right now , along with the filter and buy something more appropriate for an Oscar , and let it run along with the old filter on the new tank for about 6 to 8 weeks.
After that you can move the other fish and the old filter back onto the 20G tank.
That would probably be the easiest and most suitable option.
Aside from that , you can cycle the 55G tank using some Ammonia.

As far as decorations go...when Oscars ae small , they just like something to hide behind or in. A little cheap clay flower pot will do. Lots of people put some wood oe slate rock into the tanks.
Being that 55G is the bare minimum for an Oscar , you want to limit the amount of decorations you add , since they make his swimming space even smaller.

One of the most important items you should have is the API Master Test Kit , if you dont already own one...

And a good quality water conditioner of course.

You want to try to stay away from any hardscape items with sharp edges oscar are clumsy and prone to spooking while sleeping and will cut themselves on sharp objects
