Haha see just like that you didn't even read what I said, they way people talk on the forum is a joke, say a first timer ask a question not knowing any better, they just get shut down by what is said.

Dude go find an lfs that has an adult oscar and picture two of them in your tank I understand wanting two of them they are awesome fish but you have had some of the most knowledgeable members advise you on your current stocking imo you should listen to them. How do you plan on removing the nitrates ? Doing wc every other day or every day isn't going to be fun. Also have to disagree with your comment about finding other forums that advise you to put two oscars in that tank. Wouldn't it be better to be safe rather than sorry

No, they dont get "shut down". They are offered sound advice based on fishkeeping facts and practical experience. Accepting and applying said advice is of course completely up to the individual. You seem intent on ignoring basic Oscar keeping principles. Good luck.

We're only here to help. What you've got to realise that it's extremely frustrating that we have to keep repeating ourselves when it comes to how big the tank should be for an Oscar. There is tons of information on the Internet nowadays, really, there isn't any reason why people should be asking about how big a tank should be.

I promise that we are here to help everyone who joins the forum. We've helped thousands of people over the years and probably saved lots of Oscars.

Our goal is to educate people on how to look after an Oscar.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

You sir are a tosser.

@admin you are the only person who talk to people like a person, the only reason I come on the forum is because the internet has all different things on it saying a 30gal tank is fine for an oscar to saying minimum 90gal tanks for 1 oscar.

We'll I'm actually not set on it, I'm building the tank myself. Was just much cheaper to build it that big.

Tell you what...1st, all the regulars on this site have forgotten more than you or your "professionals", & I use that term loosely, will ever know. There are thousands of OPINIONS on the 'net....go get an aquarium book by a noted author on fishkeeping & see what proper stocking levels for large cichlids are...also, I used to manage a chain of LFS's & would NEVER impart the "advice" you were given to a customer; 2nd, if you may not like the answers, then don't ask the questions. 3rd, yes, please go seek advice where they will outright lie to you & TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR, because you apparently had your mind made up to do what you wanted to do from the get-go. 4th, nobody shut you down, you asked the questions & were given advice based on that & DECADES of experience. What you attempt will not work in the long or sort-term....that tank is woefully insufficient for 2 Oscars & a Pleco, & anybody that tells you that this will work knows absolutely ZERO about cichlids or this hobby in general.

I'm sorry if any of those statements offend you, but that's the blunt truth of the matter. If you want to listen to what we have to offer, fine.

If not, good luck to you & good luck to those Oscars...they will need it.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.
