Some good deals locally for either 55 or 75 gals wanna pick it up today but a couple of quick questions
what size heater should I get and how much do I need to take out of my existing ac110 to seed the new filter ? either gonna get another ac110 or a 2217 ?

glass tanks should get 4-5 watts per gallon

I would take out 50% of the bio-media from the AC110 on your current 40g. This will speed up the cycle process by at least a couple of weeks.

I would get a 2217 over the ac110 for the new tank if you have the money.

I should have asked this originally being that it isn't fully cycled today was 20-30 ppm for nitrate but am still getting around 1ppm for nitrate is taking out that much media gonna screw up what I have established in the 40 ?

Make sure you fully cycle the 40 first. After only being fully cycled should you take out the media for the 40g. I'm assuming that you will be running the 40g at the same time as the new 75g?

You could always buy the new filter and place it on the 40g while it is still cycling.

if you can get another filter asap and put it on the 40g so bb will build quickly.

you'll need another filter anyways.

depending on the time frame, you can take 1 of the filters off the 40 and bring the whole thing right over to the new tank.

Well so far these are the best deals
55 gal stand hood light and filters heater and other crap ( guy has to get back to me on wjat type of filters) must sh#tty if he doesn't know tje name for 100 bucks

75gal with the same stuff again dont know filters he thinks two whispers. For 250 if I get him to go for 150 im gonna do it but if not probably let it pass

Either way I was hoping to spend as little as possible so that I could pick up a 2217 andnuse it on this tank then just transfer it to the 150

get the 2217....take your time and wait for that tank. Petco or Petsmart has the $1 per gallon sale every year, for tanks 55 and under. Covers for a $55 are about $10 each brand new, and you need 2 of them, so $20. So a brand new 55g with glass covers is roughly $75.

The 55 is a bit cleaner but comes with a wood stand which I think for me is easier to level waiting on the type of filters ...
