You could just shim the legs of the metal stand. The metal stand only comes with four legs? Or is it a box? You have pics?

Wait. These are used tanks? Hmmmm......doesn't sound like an incredible deal to me.

You know what? If you're really going to get the 150, then if it were me I would just finish saving up and get the 150. Three tanks (150, 75, 40) might be more than you want to fool with taking care of, especially after you go back to work.

Well, I just checked the PetSmart web site and found this:

www.petsmart.com/fish/aquariums-stands/top-fin-55-gallon-aqu...00013?var_id=36-17598&_t=pfm%3Dcategory%26pfmvalue%3Dfaceted

Don't know if the link will work for you, but it's a brand new glass 55 gallon, stand, hood, light, heater, and (probably crappy) filter for $140.

2 hun for a stand?? Check BigAls online, I just bought a 48x18 metal for 69 bones. You could also build a 2x4 plywood job for 35-40 bucks.
