daddadoo7 created the topic: A. Orbicularis aka Capone

so my son wants to name him Capone after our deceased English bulldog. I think it fits he was the original scare face lol

Looked really nice this morning pics dont do it justice will try with my wife's camera but his yellow bands seem more pronounced this morning. Even though he did the dying act as soon as he saw me.

Keep up w/ the WC's, bro, & he will heal up in no time....& once he associates you with food, he will not hide anymore.

AWESOME fish. B)

I would give serious consideration to incorporating peat as filter media for this guy.....Oscars THRIVE in "blackwater". My Red Oscar Darth Maul is GLOWING.....that has a lot to do w/ me doing 75% WC's every 3 days, but Oscars truly appreciate soft, acidic water. You think this guy has color now??....wait until you start using peat. The results are amazing.

Easiest way is to get an old Tetra Whisper-style filter, & instead of using carbon, fill up the filter bags w/ Fluval peat granules. Does tint the water slightly, but it brought my PH down from 7.8 to 6.4.

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

I will definitly give the peat a try I remember you mentioning that in the past. I have a topfin 70 (I think) I used to remove the meds from the 40 I guess I could use that.
