No Vieja experience from me Frank, but seeing DMD's Pearsei, well, how can you not like that? Tank big enough? Hmm, maybe? Get David's input on that.

Ive never had any Synspilum that were that aggressive but I had seen a super mean melanurus but it was wild caught. There is some debate that those are actually the same fish.... Anyway, I think it would be a good candidate.

Pearsei would likely work with their personality and really would not be much different than an Oscar for size just a bit thicker of a fish. In your 150 it should work fine.

regani should be about the same as a synspilum in terms of aggression and another I think would work well.

No comment on breidhori since I never had one.

As for Parachromis, the best choice for a possible one that might work would be loisellei but cant guarantee your rainbows would make it.

My vote is for the Pearsei too! Would love to see more (frequent) images of this fish. Dave hardly ever comes through with new images of Pork Chop ( :P ), but I know you will keep us happy.

From what I have read breidhori are similar to regani. I wasnt sold on the bocourti but it grew on me (what do I matter its little mans tank) gonna explain the temperments between the pearsei and breidhori and let him chose.

I will say Porkchop being a girl seems to be more calm and easy going than the confirmed male I had.

This male I had for a little while was really mean. It also always seemed to be in breeding dress. Sadly I lost him when he was in a quarantine tank and broke a glass thermometer and cut himself up on the glass. :( So no more intank glass thermometers in any of my tanks now. Total freak accident.
