Hello everyone i used to keep a oscar before have him/her for more than 6 years... best time of my lifetime animal keeping planning to set up again just here to hows everything... any new ways in giving best life for our best oscar friend...

mister admin can i ask for a advice i realy like to have a oscar and ihave already read all the information about it. i already have a 50 gallon tank right now but. im planning to have a built in sump filter cause as i have read its the best filter and cheaperbut i want to ask is..

Hello and welcome(back?). I must advise you that a 50gal tank will not be a good home for an adult Oscar. You can raise a baby Oscar in 50g, it may hold him for many months, but before a year is up the fish should have outgrown the tank. A sump is a good filter but really not necessary for a 50 g tank. The tank itself would make a good sump for a much larger aquarium. A medium canister filter, or a pair of large hob filters will handle a 50g. I certainly suggest you get the tank going, but don't put an Oscar in it. Seek out a fish that wont get much bigger than 7-8ins. Options are plenty.
