I would have thought of it is fairly robust plastic, it should be okay. Also, I assume that your tank is going on carpet? The carpet will take up some of the force as well

My shims are TIMBERWOLF. It looks like plastic but it's a polymer base and supposed to be able to take withstand 16,000 lbs of pressure. My fishtank, 125 gallon tank, with heavy wood stand with 8 legs--do you think that is sufficient to hold it? According to the package it's stronger than wood. Can also be used for "leveling wood or composite deck boards, sheds, spas, gazebos, play houses, and more." You think this is sufficient for my fishtank???
Thanks

I'm sure it'll be okay. Remember that you haven't got the whole weight of your fish tank concentrated just on that Shim. Most of it is dissipated.

As I type, there is sawing coming from my new room as the builder takes out a section measuring 8 feet 6 x 33 inches. Tomorrow that will be filled in with concrete and I'll make sure it is absolutely level. Then hopefully it will take my tank which would be measuring 8' x 30"
