How about Goliath?

Only reason I asked about the warranty is there is a company over here that charges premium prices & only gives a 90 day warranty. (Glass Cages). Rip-off that is. I know AGA (Marineland now I think) offers a limited life-time against defects.

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

Excellent Lam.. too bad about having to fork out for a new tank, but these things happen. And I like Goliath too, suitable for such a fish.

I may not be the Boss, but I'm ALWAYS right!

Yeah, that Glasscages warranty is a joke. Aqueon aquariums are also lifetime (limited) warranty for anything 55 gallons or more.

How about Dolores Umbridge if female?

90 day warranty? That's ridiculous. Anyway, thanks for the compliments everybody!

The little one's doing fine this morning. He isn't eating yet, but I think he's still adjusting to such a large tank, he's zipping around checking out every little nook and cranny. I'm going to try FD krill this afternoon - soaking in the fridge as I speak.

Re: names: Goliath gets a maybe, but I'll have to pass on Dolores Umbridge ;) Sorry Poseidon.

I don't know, "Umbridge the Umbie" or "Umbie's Umbridge" has a nice ring to it. I am all for alliteration. Ha ha. I am sure you will pick a fine name, what ever it is. You seem to be be projecting maleness onto the tiny fish. Is that your wish or is there a way to tell at this young age? I am guessing not. I'm sure it'll be very happy no matter what and how big.

It's too soon to tell I think, but this little one had much faster growth than his siblings at the LFS, and the owner there seemed to think he was more likely to be a boy than the others. Wouldn't matter either way - chose him because he was by far the most personable, but we'll see!

It's the same as I've just assumed Henry's male until I get evidence otherwise. The only one of my fish I know is female is the sev Adie, but that's because I've seen her egg tube a couple of times and she's completely missing the face 'squiggles' the males get. It's also easier to write 'he' than 'he or she' all the time lol.

Yeah, I do the same thing with Poseidon. Well, I named him Poesidon and not Athena, or whatever, after all. I was just curious if it was possible to tell for some cichlids like the umbie. I know it is difficult with oscars, but less so for JDs.

@Poseidon: Ah I'm with you. You can tell pretty easily with umbees when they get larger, but it takes a while from what I've heard. You don't need to watch much of the video, but this one has a great umbee pair:

The male is the larger of the two.
