A lot of Oscar Lovers want to combine Oscar fish + Plants. That isn’t easy at all, but on the other hand not impossible. I myself use some simple but important rules. The first one is the tank supposed to be large, of course. The next is- your Oscars have to get used to living in planted tank since their first months of their life. Don’t plant to the corners of the tank. Surround the rood of plants by rocks because Cichlids like digging. Use plants which are relatively resistant to Oscar attacks- Valisneria and Giant Criptocoryne (Criptocoryne crispatula var. Balansae) are good samples. Also if your Oscar still doesn’t like the place of Plant just change the position. Don’t expect that everything will be smoothly , every single morning I clean up leaves from the surface of my tank. The maintain of such kind of aquarium need a lot of patience and persistence.
I hope that my advice will be useful for some of you!
So that is a sample of a Planted Tank:

I ended up taking out all plants, real or fake from the substrate, for the accumulated waste was a pain in the rear.
But your plants are wonderfull.
Are these the plants, that you have to trim, by cutting the top parts off diagonally, to keep them growing?
They look very cool.B)

Tanks Noddy!
About the waste of the substrate I clean up it once of week accept places around the plants and that doesn't make any problem of the quality of water, even opposite- that waste is food for plants.
I didn't cut the top of my plants, probably the flow makes to look it like that, but some colleagues of mine do it and it doesn'n reflects to grow of the plants.
Let me add one more thing that it comes the moment that Plants should be periodically discharged otherwise started the problem with the waste.
