Oh ok. I thought some people soak it for like a week. Will it sink ? Or does it have to be weighed down ?

is yours floating? If floating, use fishing line and tie it to a piece of tile or slate rock to weigh it down.

I tied mine to a brick... then I covered the brick with sand and the wood just looks like it is sitting on the sand B)

I have been soaking the wood for almost 2 weeks now. Usually poured boiling water over it , but yesterday just added hot water. I didnt use any bleach at all because it makes me nervous. So the wood has been soaking in the last batch of hot water for 24 hours and there is really not a lot of leeching this time. Does that mean it should be ready to go into the tank this weekend ?
I will still give it a good detailed scrub with a small brush before adding it and I know it will leech tannin for a good while.

No , I sure didnt .. :( You'd think I would have thought of that. Since I am not going to put it into a tank until probably Saturday I am going to soak it in conditioned water for the remaining 2 days and also add plenty to the tank since I will be adding it when changing the water. And moving the substrate. And ....and...and. Lol. Saturday is my tank moving , Pleco moving , sand adding , wood adding and water changing day.
