Well my Oscar didn't mess with plants to much (rip). I but my green Texas is on a mission to destroy them all and dig them up so my new plan is floating plants. I ordered mini water lettuce and some kind of floating fern I'm worried about plants and my overflows duck weed seems to small any other slightly larger fast growing options?
I want to make the tank shaded from plants and get driftwood on the bottom to make it look like a river/swamp like

I had bought some lily pads that were doing fine for a long time but they also died off. I might try it again.

The tank has built in overflows where the water can go thru the bottom over tue overflow if ita blocked. Right now my sword plant is blocking one side but its working fine

thats great the issue is they are going to multiply.... a lot and cover more than one side over your overflow and then some parts are also going to get into the overflow section and then sucked to the wet dry and keep reproducing in both places... if you think its cool go for it ... just wanted to give you a heads up ... I have grown water lettuce and duck weed b4

i'm kind of curious about that waterlettuce too. i have read that its hardy stuff.

the only thin i worry about is the floating pellets getting lost in them. but maybe the fish will pick through them.
