I'm thinking of putting some plants in my oscar tank, yeah I know there's a big chance that my oscar will eat them but I wana give it a shot. I dont use my light, so the plants would have to live off of natural sunlight. No c02 canisters, chemicals or any special maintenance, i'm pretty much looking for a plant that would survive completely independently.

I hope such a plant exsists in the aquarium trade lol.

Java moss and Java fern are your best chance. They also don't do well planted in the gravel, they need a rock or a log to grow on. This helps them stay alive with an oscar in the tank - they don't so much eat the plants as rip them up or pull them out of the gravel. Good luck! My java fern and moss is doing ok on a fairtly low light oscar tank.
