So do plants consume nitrate faster at temps lower than 80F?

No article. Just wondering since my nitrates have been really low lately as in below 10ppm. My tank temp sits at 77f now rather than the 84f in the summer. My cold water tap would come out around 83f during the summer, but it's more around the 70f now. Not sure if the fish are just producing less waste or the plants are consuming nitrates at a better rate. Maybe a combination of both.

Note: Without plants my nitrates easily reached 20ppm in about 3 days last year, and with plants it took about 5 days. This was when the tank was around 76F.

My original thought might be that since its cooler fish are not producing as much waste ...

might be something to it rock ... I might do some googling also as i'm sure you are and see whats out there on it .... is the plant growing faster in this water also?

It's got greener leaves and longer leaves than last year.

wow maybe that temperature is their Ideal temperature for growth you know ... What it is in the wild for them during their growth season....

thus with the increased growth they must increase the amount of nitrates they absorb you know
