Your oscar won't eat the plants but he will most likely pull them out of your gravel. Oscars are very picky with the layout of their tank and will move things in the tank to how they like. :) I have live plants in my tank and every week or so I find one floating on the top of my tank haha. If you are going to go for live plants get some tough ones such as amazon swords.

I have plants in my tank but they are more for my oscars tank mates as opposed to for my oscar... its more for your liking and if you are willing to replant if he does not like the placement

I am sure he will " enjoy " plants in his tank. Get good sturdy silk plants ! He will enjoy ripping them out of the substrate and sometimes drag them all over the tank. I love watching my Oscar do that kind of thing. In my mind it gives him something to do. :)

You can also check Amazon , E Bay and Drs Foster and Smith. All those sites sometimes have some pretty good deals and may be quite a bit cheaper then the petstores. I check PetSmart every time I go in , and rarely do they have those plants on sale. I dont know about PetCo. I dont go there too often since its almost an hour away. Good luck !
