I want to create a planted tank and was wondering what would be the tank requirements to make sure the plants don't die. Should I use plant food what etc.??

Take a look at the top of the plants section, i did three write ups on the basics of a planted tank that will get you started.

You need to decide what look you want to achieve and the plants you want to grow, i reccommend starting with low to medium low lighting to see if this is something you like cause there is alot of work that goes into a high tech aquascaped planted tank. You are also going to have to have something other than the stock tank lighting if you want to grow anything more than java fern and java moss, again once you decide what plants you want to grow i can help you.

Take a look at the stickies and feel free to message me or post in this thread any questions you have, also take a look at my thread in this section titled "90g rescape" that is the newest update to my high tech planted tank

bamboo is not technically an aquatic plant it will eventually die being submerged but it will take a long time, and yes both of those are very easy and can be grown using the stock hood/light
