Do you have an electric drill?

Then you can go to pretty much any hardware store and get a drill-file, they look like this:

Ask at the hardware store, I don't have the right terminology, clearly 'drill file' is not the right term. Regardless, you get ones for metal, and stone, and with a bit of patience you'd be able to make as large a hole as your heart desires.

If you do drill into a rock, wear some eye protection.

I am thinking of putting a rock in my planted tank drilling it and letting some stuff grow over the rock and some come out ... this may look really good
