salmonator created the topic: pothos lighting

Hey everyone. If I place pothos in an hob or aquaponic system . What lighting should I use? Cool white. Full spectrum. Bright white. ? Low intensity. Or high? I know they can work with low light . But I want optimal growth. Also how would I diffuse the light ? I want to use florescent lights.
Any better place I could use with them ?
Thank you for your time :)

pothos will grow depending on the nutrients available for the roots. lights
will help develop the color of the leaves... intense light makes leaves greener...

As Draco suggests, they will grow with root nutrients and lighting mostly affects the leaves only. Medium rather than intense or dim light is best for them overall. All mine have access to north sunlight so I don't really worry about the lighting that much. In one of my tanks I dumped a whole plant last week, roots and all in the main part of the tank (after rinsing it thoroughly in the sink) as it was too big for my HOB. Not a look that everyone likes, but I find the more the pothos the merrier are your nitrate levels. I also have an AC70 that is stuffed to the gills with pothos and gets northern sunlight. The plants won't last forever in so much water and will need to be replaced occasionally. My house is currently filled with various kinds of plants that I will eventually use in my aquarium; all getting watered with syphoned off fish water of course.

Okay cool. So like 4100k light sound good? It's a bright white. One stage below 5k which is natural daylight .
