You might complain about the blown out highlights in the background, it can be easily corrected however I think this way it looks more natural:)

In photoshop I corrected exposure, then colors using a warm photofilter, levels, curves, saturation, save and upload

thank you, toni-a. :)

I'll look at those features you mentioned - the 'warm photofilter' is new to me.

Learn as we go, indeed.

For anyone here who might be interested in aviation, a while back I went down to the new viewing platform at the Perth International airport.

The closest the planes were to me was still 300 metres away so I had to make do with my fairly short zoom lens and crop some images to bring them closer, so I lost alot of image quality but here they are..

What the camera doesn't capture is the amazing sound as they power back the engines and coast down onto the runway

Was lucky on the timing here:

The pilot of the Singapore Airlines plane was a good sport, waving to us all on the platform

Hope you enjoy, I'll be going back when I get a longer zoom lens and will be snapping some more pics of international flights.

These were taken at the RAAF Base Pearce Defence Force Air Show held here May 2012
The weather was fantastic, a perfect day for flying.
I didn't capture any of the aerial displays but it was a great day surrounded by the sounds of jets and afterburners.

These pictures were taken with my phone so they are nothing special but have at look at those skies! B)

F/A 18 'Super Hornet' 4 of these put on a great aerial show

Singapore Airforce C-130 'Hercules'

C-17A 'Globemaster III' I got to go onboard this one

USAF KC-135 'Stratotanker'

there was a few US planes on show including a B-52 which flew 36 hours from an airbase in Guam, to do a couple of passes and then fly back again  apprently this thing was too big to land at our air base!

There was alot I didn't cover I wish I brought my camera, the last time we had this show was about 6 years ago.

I don't remember if they had any military helicopters, but there was a black civilian one giving people aerial tours around the base all day.

I don't know but I guess the choppers are more an Army thing rather than Airforce?

Thats a cool pic you have there, is that of you and your crew?

Nah, I'll have to see if I can dig up the one of me hanging a Florida Gators flag out the window over Iraq.

I know I've got them buried on some hard drive somewhere, I need to do some consolidating and uploading someday :pinch:

Great shots at the airport B) We have a viewing area at Brisbane airport too, but it's a fair bit more than 300 metres from the runway, and it depends on which end they are landing from... I should remember to take my camera with me in the truck when I go on my deliveries.

Was a good spot, I brang along the Eski as it was a nice warm day, camera and my nephews we spent a couple of hours there. There was a few blokes who were really into it 'plane-spotters' I guess you would call them, they had a UHF radio on them so they knew which planes were arriving/departing from which runway  . I was just there for the view.
