Blimey, it's been less than a week and I am already suffering withdrawal symptoms from not going fishing. However, unlike when I was a kid, I am now only a fair weather fisherman and I don't like sitting there in the freezing cold. Oh well, roll on next spring, really shouldn't wish my life away, I will be 45 next year

I've gone out on those Seabass trips (I have a shore house in NJ), lot of money for a MAYBE 3.5 lb fish. The action can be cool, but I can catch bigger fish in the creek across the street from my house....they did stock it w/ trout on Wed, but these chuckleheads NEVER take into account the weather...it's been raining since yesterday morning, & I'm hoping they only stocked them up @ Pine Rd, which is a few miles from my house, so that they will wash down here.....the creek turns into the Colorado River when it rains heavily.......if they stocked it @ my stretch, as I live not 2 miles from the Delaware, they may wash out to it, & that would be bad.... :pinch:

did you ever get that boat you wanted?

I'm living my life, but not necessarily in the right order :)

If you are talking to me Jeannette, then no I knocked it on the head after a lot of consideration. The actual boat was going to cost something like £27,000. Then you could add on over £3000 a year for marina fees. And since we had the worst summer last year than we've ever had in years, I am so glad that I didn't get it because I probably wouldn't have used it more than a couple of times. The problem with boats is they do not retain their price at all, as soon as you put them in the water you can literally see money pouring into a big hole in the water. I would love to get about, but I will only ever get one if I got the money to spare and I can afford to keep it running, another words when I won the lottery :-), so I'll probably never get one :-)

I think it would have to remain fairly mild for a few days before the carp were triggered into feeding again. Some people don't mind waiting two days for a bite during winter, I'm afraid I'm not quite as patient a fisherman nowadays, I like a little bit more action. Anyway, I think I would probably freeze my gonads off sitting there all day without moving much.
