Before you even think about breathing Oscars you've got to ask yourself a few questions. Firstly, what are you going to do with several hundred babies? If you haven't got a plan then don't even bother trying to breed Oscars. However, if you do inadvertently end up with a breeding pair then there's not much you can do to stop them breeding if they want to.

At the moment your Oscar is still a small juvenile, it will be many many months before it will even think about breeding. People who do you want to participate in breeding Oscars will normally by a group of Oscars and then hope that two of them will form a pair. In your case, you would have to hope that you purchase the opposite sex to what you already have, but at the moment you probably don't know if you have a male or female. Oscars are notoriously difficult to sex, you normally have to wait until they are adults before you can look for signs of what sex they may be.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

I always found Oscars to be an interesting fish in the retail market. You can not give away a big Oscar yet they constantly sell babies....

If you did plan on breeding them I would look for something just a bit different. As an example Rapp's Bumblebee Oscar babies would likely do very well being resold. Of course the investment would be very high to try and get a mated pair. Also at some point your local market would get flooded and could not handle any more so then you would have to sell them elsewhere. This I bring up because a friend of mine breeds many exotic cichlids but he has flooded our market with them. So much so that you can get his F1 (from Wild caught parents) Red devil fry for $1.99 at the fish stores. So that must mean he gets very little for these in credit. So a lot of thought needs to be taken as to whether it is even a worthwhile endeavor to breed any type of fish.
