lukester333 created the topic: Size differences and breeding

Hi everyone
I was just wondering if my oscars could breed because there's quite a large size differential, I've only had them about a month or so and am planning on moving them into a 400L tank next week, also any advice on plants/decorations for my new tank would be great thanks.

What's the size? Oscar generally do not breed until around 18 months of age, and at least 9" in total length.

That's most likely my problem, the big one is about 10" and the little one maybe 5", do you think it will catch up??

it is a matter of acceptance and maturity... they may differ in size but if they are of the same age, it is possible for them to pair up... but even with the same size... once rejected, they will keep on fighting
