Gdog created the topic: New tiger oscar with white fins

So i just got this new oscar a few days ago and the next day after getting him his side fins were getting white and he doesnt swim as activley as before. He now normaly lies on the gravel or at the top. He wouldnt eat for 2 days but i managed to feed him today.

(Ps the water in the picture looks cloudy because i fed him brine shrimp and he made a mess of it)

Hi there, welcome to our little community.

Okey dokey, my guess is that the Oscar has developed a slight fungal infection on the fin. This could be stress related due to all the upheaval in the move. If you gave your fish store and ask them if they got anything that could treat a fungal infection they will probably be able to help you. If I'm wrong but I'm sure somebody else will chime in with the suggestion but I have seen things like this from time to time.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

Although the pic is a side view, there looks to be some white coloration on the forehead area. This says ammonia burn. Can you tell us more about the tank? How big? Is this a new setup? Is the system cycled with established filtration? Best thing to do right off is large volume water changes. Daily if need be.
