If you are adding them to a filter compartment you can add them now, the roots will come...

Thanks... I didn't wanna put these in my regular HOBs... as I would have to take the covers off of them... the fear there was that with covers off the light would promote algae. Algae on the bio balls might crowd out the BB. <correct me on this if I'm wrong... was just a guess on my part.>

I'm planning to buy the $15 HOBs from Wal-mart to put the Pothos in. Also...I have all the space in my larger HOB's crammed full of "EHEIM SUBSTRATE PRO" (looks like stone bio ball?) Giving lots of surface for my BB to adhere and grow.

Was planning to grab the cheap HOBs this weekend. (Father days weekend... so less 8!tc#ing from the Mrs. :woohoo:

I use a veggie filter only for my pond/s, i find it works really well. when i test the water the niTrates are always 0ppm.

There is hardly any maintenance either, maybe once a year thin the plants out, i use pennywort ,milfoil and rush which dies of in the winter time. And everyone knows that Koi and Goldfish are very messy fish!

i looked at the tetra of the same size but didnt like it .. the pump was in the fish tank and it injected water in the top of the filter

the aqua tech pump is on the outside-bottom of filter and injects water at the botom of the filter

WyDe Billy's photo is what I had in mind.... instant cheap Pothos circulating hydroponics planter! Would use the HOB's I have filtering the tanks... but they are full of filter pads and BIO balls... not to mention if covers left off for plants ... I feared Algae would take off with exposure to light.
