Has anyone tried to use Mr.Clean Magic eraser in your filter instead of filter floss? water runs through it really well but the pores are so small i dont think anything else could get through there.

havent heard of it or tried it.

you can use almost anything for media; but you just want to make sure there are not any chemicals or unnaturals.

If I'm not mistaken those breakdown in water with a quickness. If you could find an actual synthetic sponge with the same type of pours and no chemical treatments I'd look that direction.

I've used those before, they take crayon off walls like a champ, and I do remember them getting kinda beat up really fast, even on smooth surfaces. Maybe they last longer when they just have water flowing through them, but I wouldn't use them myself.
