DRACO created the topic: my DIY filter set up

for those who had ask for a video of my set up and how it is running
here is the short footage: for my spawning tank (not breeding because
i never allow the fries to grow up)

and for my 220 gal tank...i am now running only 2 x 2200LPH powerhead
since my nitrate never gone beyond the 10PPM mark... here it is...

WOW what a complicatedsystem u got there
about the nitrator its just a bucket with media on the top coil down this is interesting :) is the nitrate level from the output is 0 ? its look like regular bio filter to me
sry to bother u too much cuz i have low iQ :)

by simply looking at it, yes, it has the bio filter principle... but exploring
the principle of how the anaerobic bacteria works, it is still in there...
do you know why you have a very slow water movement in your coil???? that is
basically to give ample time for the anaerobic B to work on the nitrate....
to consume the oxygen inside the coil... just imagine the water enters the
tube and travels for at least 90 minutes inside the tubing before it went out,
that the time needed to clear out the nitrate...

in my case, yes, all toxin are being processed by bio filter and when water
enters the tubings, that is when the denitrator start to work...by gravity,
water slowly flows allowing all anaerobic b to work on nitrate...

for you to understand the concept, try to surf about sequential batching reactor (SBR)
a very effective to attain a good waste water management.

as a quick rejoinder, please take note that an anaerobic bacteria (anaerobic digester) works perfectly in a close chamber wherein there must be a condition of oxygen starvation. the tubing can create such condition wherein as water go deeper in the tubing, there was lack of oxygen in there...and AD start to function as what they are intended for.

thanks Buddy.... nope... the ball was thrown in there by my grand kids..
when flowing water hit it, it rolls and the kids love to watch it..
i also observe it lessen the rushing sound of water thus i did not removed
it from thereon... morever, the saying that it helps reducing drop-eye for an
arowana... amazing isn't it!

that is normal if your tank is inside the living room or inside the house... but if tank is at the car port...it will not matter at all...
