Well I finally got the stand complete and filled with water and fish. I ran my filter on my old tank setup to get the media established.
First pic is right after I got the sand in the tank and filled up. Water was pretty cloudy and could not see through the water to the back of the tank.

Second is about 14 hours after running my FX5 with ClearMax and Fine Water Polishing pads.

This is after I put my decorations in.

That looks really great and i bet it worked out a lot cheaper too :)

Less than $200 in the stand and a lot more piece of mind knowing it won't collapse.

What tool did you use to cut out the areas that the doors will cover?

How heavy is the stand?

I used a circular saw and it weighs about 75 - 100 pounds.
