So my birthday is coming up and I will be buying my oscar and 2 jds a new 125 gallon vs having two 55s. So that being said I need a new stand. I estimated if I ever do upgrade to a 210 in the future I would want the stand to be able to support that as well. This tank will have a wet dry filter so I needed plenty of room for a sump hence the 36 inches of clearance. The stand will measure 80 inches long and 30 inches wide and stand approx 36 inches. The construction will be with 4x4s for the posts and outter support. Im going to be using a piece of 1/2inch or 5/8 ply on the top of the 4x4s to create the base for the tank. I figured since the rest of it was 4x4s the bottom supports to hold the legs from sagging in or out can be 2x4s as they will be dealing with crushing and pulling forces and not tensile force. I have a 2x4 cross member in the back attaching to the 4x4 leg and the 4x4 middle support of the stand section. I have attached a few cad pictures, just wanted to know if you thought this was beefy enough or wether I need more cross bracing support. Thank you.

I dont think its beefy enough. I think you need more upright post supports and cross bracing for the center of the stand. Im also a bit concerned that with a 125 on it you wont have any post support directly beneath the tank but rather just the plywood, if im following you here. I can give you some drawings of how i build stands and some other ideas on monday, but im posting from phone right now...

no worries jason ill go ahead an follow you i understand what your saying do you think instead of the 1 4x4 cross member under the ply i should go with at least 2? and then perhaps put some cross on the side id like to keep the front of the stand open for maintenance and also if i place two more 4x4 posts ill be losing 7 inches under the stand and will no long be able to fit the sump

16x33x19 I'm +1 the sump is actually a 200 gallon wet dry but since these are cichlids so decided to get the larger wet dry as its more room for bacteria to grow and also the drip plates a gph are larger and higher

Ok I added two more supports under the ply this should be enough to force spread the weight over the frame.
