Yes, sorry everyone that I haven't posted an update yet will get an update pic posted asap. But I will say this the background has held up great. The cement has faded in some spots and been aged and changed by the water some, so it has a really nice natural look too it now. I also made a change on one side. I decided I wanted to put some of my slate back in the tank so I removed one side and made a new one that only went half way down from the top so that under it I could stack my slate rock and make some hiding spots. But other than that it has held up well the fish have been happy and the background looks great. Im visiting a relative right now so I will only be able to post what I already have on my phone but will post more when I get home.

It cut the end of the pic off but you can see the side I changed when i get home i will get some close up pics of the background but thanks for the continued interest in this project

Thanks for the quick response !!!! thats awesome !! I really want to build one for my 55gal to try it out then build a huge one for my 265 ... I hope I can do it ... its going to have to be done while Im doing a water change :S ... I want to burry the bottom and glue the top but my tank is acrylic ... I wonder If I could make it so it is removable humm :huh: some things I need to think about but I am excited for this ... finally have the ability to do it .... did you say quickrete would work?

Eddie, if you use quickrete, you need to soak it - quickrete makes your pH skyrocket at first.

Also, why not embed strong magnets in the back of each piece of background, and then use another magnet on the outside of your tank to hold the background in place?
