ehall67 created the topic: DIY Gravel Vac with Power Head attachment

Hey everyone I decided to also do a DIY Gravel vac since a few people said they would like to see it ... not much to it but I do go through step by step on how I did it and the little tricks I used to get it to work :) ... so If you ever wanted to stop using a gravity suction premiss and don't have the ability to use a python might want to try this Idea out B) ...

any questions please ask!! B)

ha ha ha... welcome to the club.... ive been using a powerhead vacuum
for a long time now... however, i am using different DIY wherein a
used baby's feeding bottle becomes handy... i have a footage of it
somewhere here...

thanks for sharing your idea.... they will realise how fast and easy
throwing old tank water over the window LOL!

can't wait to rig this up .. having to leave the water running to get suction on the python isn't viable. pumping the water out the window and watering the plants, that's recycling. I like.

i know @ pet - _o they have a power-head for $20, it's their own brand...don't know how well they push water ... but it's cheap.

thanks ehall

around 10 to 15 minutes and 50% is done using a 2200LPH powerhead...

Cool video, Ed. Question, though.....why doesn't a Python work for you? Water pressure? I couldn't get along w/out mine, as my basement is DEEP(the soil pipe to the City connection is at my knees!!)

I use the old bucket method on the 20 XH in my living room w/ my male Convict, & I dump the waste water on my wife's Mums; they grow wild from it!!

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

Yeah you hit it jack none of the sinks around the tank have enough pressure.. I mean they work fine for everyday stuff but the one in your basement comes out with real force!

And yeah jason it seriously is a big help
