Ladybug created the topic: Sandfall

I am planning to make a sandfall to put in my big O tank, I have the concept down and even have a little tester in the tank already. I was worried about Royce breaking it since he is getting kind of big and he might not like it, so I made the most basic version I could and I have had it in there for a few days and he doesn't seem to care about it, so I will be moving on to one that actually looks aesthetically pleasing. If anyone has any tips for me please let me know.

I know its pretty ugly right now, I just wanted to test the concept.

I've never heard of them before, I can see how they would work.
Only thing I would be thinking of is more fine sand stirred up and finding its way into my filter!

The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.

Thats a problem I have heard happening, but the sand I have in my tanks is really heavy and falls right back down with no clouds or particles coming up.
heres a video of it

I have play sand in my aquarium, which is pretty heavy, and it still finds its way into my canister. My intake tube is 6 inches from the top of the substrate, lol. Blaming my Oscar for that one.

I've never had sand in my filter, but if I did I'm sure it would be my oscars fault haha. My tank has a built in wet dry filter so the sand would have to go all the way to the top to get in.

Nice. I don't have a wet dry filter. Not even sure on where to get one other than to buy a bio wheel filter.

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but is the purpose of this just for show or does it have a different purpose?
