Wate conditioner works instantly when it comes into contact with chlorine and chloramines

Remove water

Add water conditioner in the area of the refill and dose for whole tank volume

Refill tank

Yup, me too....just make sure the water isn't freezing cold, #1, & an absolute must is a high quality water conditioner, like Tetra Aquasafe, Prime, Kordon NovAqua, etc. No "off" brands like API or Wardley or anything marked WalMart!!! Going cheap will kill your fish!!! :pinch:

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

You don't wnat the temperature to drop or increase more than 5 degrees in the aquarium. So its best to get the water entering the aquarium as close to temperature as possible.

API is absolute garbage.......use one of the ones I recommend(I have used Tetra Aquasafe for decades & in my personal opinion,it is the best on the market). Use cheap water conditioner @ your peril!!!

Best bang for your dollar is Seachem Safe or Prime. A capful treats 50gals with prime which is what I use most of the time. I've used Kordon Amquel and Tetra AquaSafe to, both are very good. I'm a 60-75% waterchanger so with prime I'm not constantly ordering water conditioner. Just my 2c hope it helps.

Everyone has you covered on the adding the treatment to your tank and keeping it the right temperature deal. Make sure your tap PH is close to though.
